okay an easy way to do an art review is to start with the Elements & Principles of Design, you know, line, shape, form, texture etc. Talk about those and how the artist uses these to protray their image. so with Wood and Undergrowth, you can say it's mono chromatic it's very texturized, -as is classic van gogh style. It's impressionism, right? what are the features that make it impressionism? don't know? then look it up on wikipedia You can also talk about what time period they are from, and what style. Intro's are always great to fill with background about the artist, and where they were in life when they painted that painting. then you break it down into three things so maybe 1) time period and style 2) elements and principles 3) and maybe put background info here, or mix and match. these are all images of nature, they are about feelings that are invoked... anyways I hope this is enough to get you started.

Should I review my my high school courses before going to University
Should I review my my high school courses before going to University?
I am a bit concerned about retaining all information in a timely fashion when I go to university (I will be taking courses that construct off my high school courses like chemistry, biology and physics). Should I review my notes or am I just wasting effort? I want to maintain a high GPA too and plan on going into medicine if that is relevant.

How many of you buy products online based on customer reviews?
I am doing a marketing project for school about what influence customer reviews have on which product a consumer will choose to buy. I should probably add here, if you DON'T buy products for this reason, please answer too!

I check the costumer reviews for every product that I plan to buy. If all the reviews are bad I want buy it. If it's 50/50 I'll think about it and buy it only if I really like it. If more than 50% are good reviews i will probably buy that product. If there is no review, I will look for it on some other website :) +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Customer reviews can influence me. For example, they might bring up that an important feature is missing, or consistent reviews of poor quality would turn me off.

Parents - how much summer review of school work for the kids?
Do you think that summer should be 100% recreational? Or are you sending your kids to summer school or doing some sort of home schooling? Any examples of the kind of home reivew would be appreciated too. Thanks

There are some great workbooks that you can get at the bookstore that review your child and start preparing them for their next grade. They are called summer bridge, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1887923098/sr=8-1/qid=1151354431/ref=sr_1_1/002-5647511-9834449?ie=UTF8. Some children get bored with workbooks and learn best hands on. Get involved at your local musuems and libraries, there are lots of free or inexpensive educational activities going on ALL summer long. It's important to keep the summer structured, but keep a balance between work and play!

Just give them two weeks worth of school work for the summer. They can take as much time as they want on it as long as it gets done.

I'm making my kids do some work pages to keep their math skill good. About one page (front only) a week. The rest is their time. Summer shouldn't be all recreational because then the kids would forget their work and have trouble catching up in school It should be about 95% recreational.

I went to camp untill my eight grade summer and my mom is an English teacher so I always did a lot of reading. In HS I did a lot of summer programs, travelling programs, programs at colleges, etc... Basically a lot of educational or career oriented things that helped me get into and better prepare for college. Either that or find a job or volunteer at a local library, hospital, elderly home... Even habitat for humanity at some cool location. Colleges just don't want to see that your kids vegetated during the summers during their HS years.

my kids do not need summer schol but to help them rememebr what they learned i made work sheets for them and they read for two hours a day, one hour inthe morning and one in the night, they do math worksheets and are doing very good in school. i have no problems and would recommend making worksheets, reading and doing some sort of writing assignments at home.to me summer is a waste of time for the kids who dont need it, some parent send thier kids to school for the lunch or for a free babaysitter, piontless i think you can do it at home. i know not everyone is or has the opputunity to stay home but you can do it at home.

Which cosmetology schools have the best reviews?

Cosmetology schools are not like regular schools. You get out of your education what you put into it. You want to go to a school in a busy area with as small amount of students as possible. Practice is what makes the difference, so a busy area will give you a better education than an area with few clients. The less students in the school, the more clients and attention you get. Seriously, if you want to learn a lot and be amazing, you can, or you can slack like a lot of people and just get by. Beauty schools just teach you the basics, just enough to take the state beard test. There are two books that are used in America, so you are learning the same information no matter where you go. The rest comes from you having as many clients as possible. I have seen it first hands, the busier the student is, the better they are! Aveda is supposed to be the best, but I have had my hair cut by a student who was about to graduate from there and it was the worst cut I have ever gotten! It is really up to you. Oh, and go to hair shows! This is where you get a lot of knowledge. We came back and instantly knew so much more than the students that didn't go. We taught them new things all day! So it is up to you to get the most for your money. I had a horrible, horrible teacher and still learned so much! I watched videos and used online resources, you really can teach yourself so much. Beauty supply stores also have in store classes, go to as many as you can!

Do you mean a horseback riding saddle? If so, maybe you could get more results in the pets>horses category. No, I haven't heard of a saddlemaking school. That might be a trade that could be learned somewhere besides a typical college or university. I would contact a saddle-making company (just search for saddles on google) and see where they are made.

Do you think that year round school is better than a traditional schedule
Do you think that year round school is better than a traditional schedule?
My kids are getting ready to go back to school next week after having 11 weeks off. We were on a year round schedule until two years ago when we switched to traditional. Personally, I liked year round because the kids seemed to stay in "learning mode" better when the max time they were off was six weeks. After speaking to a few teachers they have implied that they spend the first weeks of school just reviewing everything from the last year and some of the children come back to school after 11 weeks, never having picked up a book. Do you think that year round school or traditional schedule is better for educating?

I agree! Year round is much better. I'd like to see us go to a trimester system that would have 1 month off in the summer and a 2 week break between each trimester for the students and one for the teacher. The teachers would remain for the first week off to accomplish all the stuff they don't have time to do during the regular day (training, grades, in-service, etc.). This would give one extra week -- the middle trimester would be longer but time off for Christmas and Thanksgiving, both of which would fall in that time frame, would take care of that. I also feel that teachers should be on a 12 month contract and paid accordingly, with two weeks of that summer break used for advanced skill training in their fields. I don't feel a total of one month vacation is unreasonable -- many of our civil service employees receive that anyway (military, postal, etc.).

As a teacher, I can say without doubt, the year round school is great. You're right, in a traditional yr we spend most of September just reviewing. What a waste! With all yr round, the kids are fresher, the teachers are also fresher do to the scheduled breaks. It's a win, win situation.

Yes year round school definetly works. Consider all the countries that utilize this method, like Japan for instance. Their children are much more advanced in the sciences and mathematics, they dont have as much time to get involved with gangs etc.... And bring back corporal punishment!

Well...you can't Libel any person or institution. You can't knowingly state things in your review that you know are untrue. Anything you state as a fact has to be accurate. Opinions are a different matter because they are subjective.

no, it's called freedom of speech. however: if you say horrible things about a school that are not true and it causes them to lose their students or staff they can sue you. just make sure what you say is true.

Answer 5
No its not illegal, if you make up lies about it then they can sue you for libel However, it may be against your schools policy and that could get you into trouble with the school

Answer 7
Well...you can't Libel any person or institution. You can't knowingly state things in your review that you know are untrue. Anything you state as a fact has to be accurate. Opinions are a different matter because they are subjective.

universities and colleges sometimes have student blogs attached to their websites. it might not be that reliable, but it's a student voice. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnvwfKZ5JYyW1MtYjwoVWGLFxQt.;_ylv=3?qid=20081002192652AAFB8o0

Are there any pilots out there who have been to the Airline Transport Professional School
Are there any pilots out there who have been to the Airline Transport Professional School?
After doing some research it would appear that this is one of the top schools in the country for training pilots as a career. Total schooling is going to cost me around $65k which includes "85-Hour Private Pilot Program & Intro to IFR", "Airline Career Pilot Program" and the "Regional Jet Standards Certification". A huge investment in my eyes. But i can't seem to find any reviews of the school other than the testimonials on their website. I would like to know how good the training is and how readily accepted is their training in the airline industry. I understand there are cheaper routes but are the cheaper routes better. For additional info check out their website: http://www.atpflightschool.com

I worked with two pilots who did the ATP career Track program who were very happy with it. Other than their testimonials page, you can communicate with grads and ask questions via their "Career Coach" forum- http://www.beanairlinepilot.com/ I also suggest getting more input on ATP from these very popular pilot message boards: The ATP folder at http://forums.jetcareers.com/airline-transport-professionals-atp/ (there are over 1,400 posts & 15,000 replies so far) a search for "ATP" at http://forums.flightinfo.com (There will also be thousands of posts about ATP)

i did most of my training at WMU but i went to ATP for my multi-engine commercial add on.. i was told that they are a pilot factory, meaning pilots get in and out quickly but not necessarily all that great of training.. the add on course was a 5 day course and they held true to that.. i didnt feel that the training was excellent.. i would rate it as a 6 out of 10.. a few nice things about ATP.. you can go from zero hours to first officer of a regional airline in a matter of months.. the training is primarily done in multi-engine aircraft which is much more appealing to companies.. cross country training is fun, you get to fly from one ATP base to the next and stay over night in different cities.. a couple bad things.. they seem to operate more on their schedule and not yours.. information is forced down your throat whether you're ready for it or not... so be ready! i guess if i was you, i would try out their private pilot program and see if you like it.. if it goes good, then stick with it.. im not positive on this but i think you will be training every day so you will probably have to treat it like a full time job.. and make sure that 65K includes your commercial rating and instrument rating. those are the two most important things to get
