Can I legaly copy part of the paper jacket from a hardcover book 4 a school poster?
I need to do this poster (book review for school) I'm wondering if it's legal to copy the paper jacket of a hardcover book to put on it despite the whole 'this book may not be used or copied in any way thing'. please help.

If it's just for a school project about the book, you don't have anything to worry about. That warning is for people who would want to copy the WHOLE book (or parts of it) to sell for profit, or pass off as their own writing. You're doing neither. Hope you get an 'A'!

yes, you can. it may not be "legal" persay, BUT if it's just something small, like copying a picture, your not hurting anyone! HOPE THIS HELPS!

Since you aren't selling the poster, I don't see that there would be an issue. Just be sure to credit the quote, etc.

It's fine, I did it. Since your whole poster is about the book, no one is going to say anything. I agree with the other poster who said as long as you aren't copying all the pages and reselling the book.
