What is a better school, Marquette University or Bradley University?
I am thinking about either going to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. What do you think is a better school? Like education, student life, etc. Any reviews about either school would be much appreciated. Also a place where I can find many student reviews. I am going into civil engineering.

I am a very proud Marquette U. alumna. I enjoyed my time there. And, it is truly a great school. I knew several engineering majors, and they graduated with great jobs and connections. Academically, you will definitely be challenged and prepared for the "real world". As far as student life, there is something for everyone. There are plenty of groups, organizations, and activities in which students can participate. Also, the campus is right downtown. It's on many buslines. And, it's near a mall and the lake (there you will find the beach, festivals, etc...). I don't know much about Bradley. But, for an engineering major, Marquette U. is a great choice!
I, too am a proud alumna. I attended BU from 2003-2007 and am currently enrolled as a graduate student. I'm not able to speak directly to an engineer's experience, but I know student life and the Bradley community firsthand. We are slightly smaller in enrollment than Marquette (8,081 to our 6,000 undergrads), and thus have a different ave. classroom size and student-teacher ratio. BU has an active Greek Life, over 240 student groups and D1 sports (with soccer and basketball being the most popular). The BU community is also REALLY close-knit; 3 of my 5 bridesmaids were my best friends at BU (and I married an alum as well:).
ReplyDeleteFortunately, you're considering two of the top regional private institutions and you'll probably love your experience at either school. Best of luck with your search!
