I think a good one which I did when I was 15 was "Of Mice and Men" but it depends how advanced you're child is (sorry if its not your child). If not that then go with anything by Shakespeare

You didn't say what types of books you like to read - adventure? biography? classics? sci-fi? - so I listed some of each: Fantastic Mr. Fox, the BFG, or other great stories by Roald Dahl The Adventures of Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain The Jungle Book or Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling The Time Machine or The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis

What is the best esthetics's school in Austin, Tx.?
I will be moving to Austin in a few months and I have a few in mind but I want to make sure I choose the right one for me. I've been looking at Avenue Five, Paul Mitchell the school, and Baldwin Beauty School. Any others or reviews on any of these would be appreciated. :)

Hi. Congrats on your move to Austin. I work with beauty schools and have heard of these. They are all great schools...This should be a big help to you. We offer two great resource sites for everything you need to know about beauty schools. I pulled the schools in your area, just in case you may also be considering any outside of Austin. http://www.beautyschool.com/search/texas http://www.beautyschoolsdirectory.com/find/index.php?search=Y&fromform=Y&thisSearchPage=Find+Page&search=Y&t=3&st=TX Also, the common Q&A section on Beauty School Directory, answers almost any question you have about your career in beauty school. http://www.beautyschoolsdirectory.com/faq/ Oh! One more thing – if you want to ask questions of other beauty students, cosmetology teachers and working beauty professionals across the country, you might want to check out the Beauty School Lounge at http://lounge.beautyschoolsdirectory.com… It’s a social networking site for people interested in cosmetology and esthetics, and it’s loaded with good stuff and is great for asking questions like these.

Does New School university have a bad reputation

Does New School university have a bad reputation?
I've heard mixed reviews about this school. For someone who is seriously considering attending a top university (Yale for example) for their graduate education (PhD), is New School a good choice for an undergrad or Masters degree? While I've heard many Professors say that it's not really considered a university with a good reputation, I've heard some say that it is.......

Well I personally consider it to be very respectable. It's a very liberal arts type school, known more for humanities/social sciences than math/science. Most of the people who think lowly of it are the type of people who believe that any liberal arts college is a joke and that only top colleges are worthy of their interest. I wouldn't pay much attention to them. It's considered a respectable college by most, and it's pretty well known nationally. It all depends on what program you're doing. A certain program may be better at New School than Yale, or vice versa. You can't just look at the college as a whole, as a college is really just a collection of small schools (journalism school, allied health school, school of education, etc.) and each one is different in every way.

It is a great place. One of the better preschool franchises. It is expensive but they do a good job with with preschool and before and after school care. Very well organized. You still must be active with the school administrators and staff to make sure your child gets proper care.

I would first decide what the overarching theme was - what was the point? How did the characters grow, or learn, or change? Were there any counterpoints or sub-plots that reenforced that theme? Second, I would go into detail how the author developed the character, or characters, and the plots and sub/counter plots all in the effort to develop the theme. This should be the main focus of the essay. Describe how the theme(s) all come together to reach the author's intended conclusion Next and finally, I would give my criticism of the book. Was the buildup enough. Were the various plots resolved, were the various themes concluded? Did the author effectively use imagry, plot movement, all the literary devices available to effectively get his/her theme across. How successful was he? Finally, be sure to construct all of these into a standard essay.

The bibliographical details of the book----author, publisher, title, year and place of publication. The summary of the story. The profile of the characters. How the characters interact with each other. Your opinions of their actions. Literary theories can come in handy.. Pschological background of the characters. Your reaction, emotions instilled in you as you read. You can also do an author profile. Historical events can also be mixed with your review. Happy writing!

Just read the book and pick it apart like it was a cheezy movie. Then write it all down in 1st person singular, from the viewpoint of say,, an overbearing mother or a doting grandfather. Good Luck.

If it's just for a school project about the book, you don't have anything to worry about. That warning is for people who would want to copy the WHOLE book (or parts of it) to sell for profit, or pass off as their own writing. You're doing neither. Hope you get an 'A'!

Answer 1
yes, you can. it may not be "legal" persay, BUT if it's just something small, like copying a picture, your not hurting anyone! HOPE THIS HELPS!

no but who's gonna say something. do it up.

Answer 4
Since you aren't selling the poster, I don't see that there would be an issue. Just be sure to credit the quote, etc.
2008-02-21 11:46:05

Answer 5
there is nothing wrong coz you arn't selling the poster so it's not harming anyone. Just make sure you say where the cover is from and the author. Hope you do well honey!!!

Answer 6
It's fine, I did it. Since your whole poster is about the book, no one is going to say anything. I agree with the other poster who said as long as you aren't copying all the pages and reselling the book.

Best Ivy League school to major in music

Best Ivy League school to major in music?
I'm a freshman in high school and I'm getting really serious about my piano studies and such, and I've been reading really good reviews of Ivy League schools, so I'm currrious, what is the best ivy league school i should attend for college to major in music?

If you only want to go to an Ivy League, then I would say Yale. All Yale graduate music majors get full-tuition scholarships (although you would be starting out as an undergraduate) - a lot of the teachers in the music school there also teach at Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, SUNY Stony Brook, and other great local music schools. If you wanted to go to school for musicology/ethnomusicology, then I would recommend going to Harvard. To be honest, Ivy Schools are great...but I wouldn't say they are the best for studying Music - for Music you really need to go to a more Arts-focused school such as a conservatory. As a pianist, the BEST music schools for piano performance would be Juilliard and the Peabody Conservatory - they have (dare I say, in my opinion) far more distinguished piano faculty then any of the Ivy Leagues. Other great schools to look into for piano would be Univ of Michigan, Oberlin, and Eastman. I would highly recommend basing your school decision on the TEACHER that you would like to study, not just the Ivy League "brand". Maybe if you were going for a different major, but I would not recommend focusing too much on Ivy Leagues for music... Good luck!!

Yale probably has the best reputation in music.

Answer 2
I would have to say Yale. I also recommend Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory, Juliard (good luck!), Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins, and NYU. NYU and Johns Hopkins are both Ivy-caliber, and those are both really good music programs. Keep in mind, all of these schools and programs are really competitive, so you should make sure you have some backup schools, too.

Is Francis Marion University a good school

Is Francis Marion University a good school?
I am attending Francis Marion in the fall and would like to know some reviews about the school.
Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers - 2009-03-10 11:49:37

Francis Marion is a tier three college in the category master's universities - south. Tier 3 means that they're ranked in the lowest half of all colleges in that category. Bottom line though - they're as good as any number of other schools that most people have never heard of and that serve a relatively regional area. What you get out of your education there depends mostly on what effort you put into it.

Is Ithaca College in upstate NY a big party school? Princeton Review has it as #11 for reefer madness. I know they have a substance-free dorm, but I feel like being there = prude. Please let me know what you think.

I interviewed for a job there at one point, and I didn't get the impression that it was a big party school. It seemed like more of a hippie school, which could also explain the ranking. It is also a school known to be very gay-friendly.
